eKid-ID FAQs

When will I receive the eKid-ID?

You will receive it either shortly before or after you receive your Ident-A-Kid cards. Cards typically take about 3 weeks.

What will the eKid-ID look like when I receive it on my phone?

The eKid-ID is a Picture Message version of your purchased Ident-A-Kid card(s) that you can store on your cell phone, which allows you to have quick access in case of an emergency.

The message you receive with your child’s eKid-ID will look like this:

Here is your eKid-ID – Before transmitting an eKid-ID Alert, notify and consult your local law enforcement agency.

How do I save the eKid-ID to my phone?

When you open the message on your phone, you can select to save the picture in your photos on your phone by pressing, “Select” and “Save”.  Please see the manual for your phone for more specific instructions.

How do I forward the eKid-ID to someone else?

To forward the eKid-ID, you will need to go into your messages and create a new message. Then, you will go into your options and attach a picture.  You can then find the eKid-ID in your pictures file. Select it and your child’s eKid-ID should now be added to the message. Finally, you select your recipient(s) and send the eKid-ID. Please see the manual for your phone for more specific instructions. (You will not prompt or create any kind of alert by forwarding your child’s eKid-ID to a spouse or family member.)

What if I delete my eKid-ID or never receive my eKid-ID?

If you have deleted it, or haven’t received it, and it is within 60 days from when the local Program Director has come to the school, you should contact your local program director to send the eKid-ID to your phone.

To find out who your local Program Director is, go to our website page here and search by your state, or call us at 1-800-890-1000. If you have received your cards already, their number should be on the back of the card.
